GULF and Singtel Partner to Develop Subsea Cable Connecting Thailand and Singapore

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, Gulf Energy Development (GULF) and the Singtel Group have entered into a strategic collaboration to develop a subsea cable system linking Thailand and Singapore. This project aims to strengthen international connectivity and bolster the digital infrastructure of both nations, positioning them as key hubs for the Southeast Asian digital economy.

By combining GULF’s infrastructure development capabilities with Singtel’s expertise in international subsea networks, the partnership intends to support the rising demand for cloud services, artificial intelligence (AI), and data centers. Sarath Ratanavadi, CEO of GULF, stated that this initiative is a significant step toward expanding the company’s digital infrastructure portfolio and aligns with Thailand’s goal of becoming an ASEAN hub for digital technology and AI.
