KTC Supports Government Housing Fee Reduction Measures
KTC highlights the benefits of the government's 0.01% transfer and mortgage fee reduction for homes priced up to 7 million baht.
According to Khaosod Online, Krungthai Card Public Company Limited (KTC) has expressed support for the government's initiative to extend the reduction of property transfer and mortgage registration fees to 0.01%. This measure applies to residential properties priced at no more than 7 million baht.
Nattasit Soontranu, KTC’s head of credit card marketing, stated that this reduction significantly eases the financial burden on homebuyers during the transfer process. He noted that purchasing a home involves multiple simultaneous costs, including down payments, interior decoration, furniture, and appliances. By lowering these initial transaction costs, the measure aims to improve liquidity for families, allowing them to allocate funds toward essential post-move-in expenses or long-term financial stability.
For residents and potential property buyers in Thailand, this policy serves as a financial relief mechanism that may free up capital for other household needs. KTC’s internal data indicates that high-income earners, particularly those earning over 50,000 baht per month, continue to prioritize investments in quality of life, including housing, health, and education. While this measure provides immediate relief for property acquisition, it remains to be confirmed how long these specific fee reductions will remain in effect and whether further government incentives will be introduced to support the broader real estate market.
