According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has suggested that Chelsea Football Club should be stripped of their 2016-17 Premier League title. Pochettino, who managed Spurs during that campaign, argues that the title should be awarded to his former team due to Chelsea's documented financial irregularities.

Chelsea has faced significant disciplinary action, including a £10 million fine from the English Football Association (FA) in July and a suspended two-window transfer ban. These penalties stem from 74 breaches of regulations during the Roman Abramovich era. Additionally, the Premier League imposed a £10.75 million fine in March after investigations revealed the use of unlicensed agents and the concealment of transaction details between 2009 and 2022. Specific transfers, including those of Eden Hazard, Willian, David Luiz, and Nemanja Matić—key players in the 2016-17 championship squad—were identified as part of these violations.
