GULF and Singtel Partner to Develop Subsea Cable Linking Thailand and Singapore

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on September 10, 2026, Gulf Energy Development (GULF) and the Singtel Group have entered into a strategic collaboration to develop a subsea cable infrastructure project. This initiative aims to establish a direct high-speed connection between Thailand and Singapore, strengthening the digital connectivity between the two nations.

Sarath Ratanavadi, CEO of GULF, stated that the project is designed to support the rising demand for cloud services, artificial intelligence (AI), and data center operations. By combining GULF’s infrastructure development capabilities with Singtel’s international expertise in subsea systems, the partnership seeks to position both countries as key hubs for the Southeast Asian digital economy.
