Thai Cyclists Secure Two Spots for 2026 UCI Track World Championships
The Thai national cycling team has qualified for two events at the upcoming UCI Track World Championships in Shanghai, following strong global ranking performances.
According to Khaosod Online, General Decha Hemkrasri, President of the Cycling Association of Thailand, announced that the International Cycling Union (UCI) has confirmed Thailand's participation in two events at the 2026 UCI Track World Championships. The competition is scheduled to take place from October 14 to 18, 2026, at the velodrome in Shanghai, China.
Thailand earned these spots based on the world ranking of the men's sprint team, which currently sits at 15th place. Consequently, the Thai team will compete in the men's team sprint and the men's 1km time trial. The squad features notable athletes including Jai Angsuthasawit and Norasetthada Bunma. General Decha noted that this event will follow the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, marking a busy period for the national team.
