Thai officials are advancing royal initiative projects in Phetchaburi, aiming to restore forests and develop new ecotourism sites near the Huai Sai Tai reservoir.
On September 10, 2026, Air Chief Marshal Satitpong Sukvimol, Private Secretary to His Majesty the King, chaired a meeting at the Naresuan Camp in Phetchaburi to review the progress of the 'Hup Kapong-Huai Sai Tai' royal initiative projects. The meeting included Suchart Chomklin, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, and Dr. Raweewan Phuridech, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry.
According to Khaosod Online Thailand, a key focus of the initiative is the development of the area surrounding the Huai Sai Tai reservoir. The Royal Forest Department, in collaboration with PTT Public Company Limited, is working to restore forest cover and improve the local landscape. A central component of this effort involves planting 12 varieties of colorful forest trees to transform the area into a sustainable ecotourism destination.
