Police Officer Surrenders Following Fatal Shooting in Bang Lamung
A police officer has surrendered to authorities after allegedly killing his wife at a kindergarten in Chonburi province.
On the morning of September 10, 2026, Police Sub-Lieutenant Thatsaphong, a deputy inspector at Bang Lamung Police Station, surrendered to authorities following a fatal shooting incident. According to reports from Khaosod Online, the officer allegedly shot and killed his wife, known as 'Kru Ple,' at the Nong Pla Lai Subdistrict Municipality Kindergarten.
The surrender occurred at approximately 6:20 a.m. after an overnight negotiation led by his son, Police Corporal Rachata, who is also a police officer. Following his surrender, the suspect was taken into custody at the Bang Lamung Police Station for interrogation. Forensic teams from Chonburi have since collected gunpowder residue samples from the vehicle allegedly used in the incident.
As of 9:50 a.m. on September 10, the suspect remained in custody at the station. His son and other family members visited the facility to provide him with clothing, food, and medication.
