Major Stock Transactions Reported for GULF and BBL
Sarath Ratanavadi has sold a significant stake in GULF Energy Development, while a separate large-volume transaction occurred for Bangkok Bank (BBL).
According to a report by Prachachat Business on September 10, 2026, Sarath Ratanavadi, a key figure at GULF Energy Development, executed a large-lot sale of 26.97 million shares. The transaction was valued at approximately 1.69 billion baht, with shares sold at a price of 62.50 baht each to institutional investors.
Simultaneously, a separate large-lot transaction was recorded for Bangkok Bank (BBL), involving 2.4 million shares at a price of 188 baht per share, totaling 451.20 million baht. Combined, these transactions represent a total market movement of over 2.1 billion baht.
For residents and expatriates in Thailand, these large-scale movements in major energy and banking stocks are significant indicators of institutional market activity. While such transactions are common in the financial sector, they often reflect shifts in portfolio management among major stakeholders.
It remains to be confirmed how these specific divestments or reallocations will influence the long-term strategic direction of these companies or their impact on the broader Thai stock market. Investors and observers should monitor official filings for further details regarding the identities of the institutional buyers and the underlying reasons for these substantial trades.
