Opposition Questions Royal Thai Police Budget for Bomb Disposal Suits

During the fourth day of the 70-day budget deliberation, members of the People's Party (PP) questioned the Royal Thai Police (RTP) over a proposed procurement plan. The RTP is seeking 30 million baht to purchase 50 bomb disposal suits. According to the PP, this budget allocation implies a cost per unit significantly higher than market rates.

While public market prices for such equipment typically range between 40,000 and 140,000 baht, the PP claims the police budget sets the price at approximately 15 times that amount. In response to these concerns, the opposition has suggested that the police explore alternative solutions, such as utilizing bomb disposal robots or coordinating with military equipment resources to improve cost-efficiency.
