ASEAN Observers Visit Sa Kaeo Border Area for Land and Mine Clearance Updates
ASEAN observers visited the Ban Nong Chan area in Sa Kaeo province to monitor border conditions, land surveying, and ongoing mine clearance operations.
On September 10, 2026, representatives from the ASEAN Observer Team in Thailand (AOT-TH) conducted a field visit to the Ban Nong Chan area in Khok Sung District, Sa Kaeo province. According to a report by Khaosod Online, the delegation was hosted by the Burapha Force, led by Deputy Chiefs of Staff Colonel Jakkrit Thuraphan and Colonel Nawin Kulthai.
The primary objective of the visit was to observe and verify facts regarding the situation along the Thai-Cambodian border. During the session, the ASEAN observers received briefings on the progress of land surveying and the issuance of land deeds within Thai territory. Additionally, the team inspected ongoing humanitarian mine clearance operations in the vicinity.
