Police Use Undercover Rider Ruse to Arrest Drug Dealer in Phuket
Chalong police in Phuket successfully apprehended a suspected drug dealer in the Rawai area by disguising officers as food delivery riders.
On the evening of September 9, 2026, police officers from the Chalong Station in Phuket conducted a targeted operation in the Thai Mai community of Rawai. To bypass the suspect's security measures, officers disguised themselves as motorcycle delivery riders, with one officer posing as a passenger. This tactic allowed them to enter the community without alerting the suspect. Upon reaching the designated location, the officers identified and apprehended a 29-year-old man, identified as Anuwat. Despite an attempt to flee, the suspect was quickly surrounded and taken into custody. Police seized quantities of crystal methamphetamine and yaba (methamphetamine tablets) along with other assets as evidence.
