Oil Leak Incident Reported Near Rama III Road, Bangkok

On September 9, 2026, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt visited the area near Rama III Road and Chuea Phloeng Road, located between the Khlong Toei and Yan Nawa districts, to oversee the response to an oil leak contaminating the local drainage system. To mitigate risks, officials have halted fuel distribution and reduced pressure within the pipeline system. These actions have reportedly led to a decrease in both the volume of oil and the intensity of odors in the vicinity. Specialized teams are currently excavating two locations to inspect underground pipelines, identify the exact source of the leak, and perform necessary repairs.
