Muangthai Capital Announces First Thai Baht Social Bond Offering

Non-bank lender Muangthai Capital (MTC) plans to issue its first Thai Baht-denominated social bonds, with subscription expected in late October.

According to Prachachat Business, Muangthai Capital (MTC) has announced plans to offer four series of Thai Baht-denominated social bonds. This marks the first time a non-bank financial institution in Thailand has issued such instruments. The company has set an interest rate range between 2.65% and 4% per annum for the offering.

For residents and those monitoring the Thai financial landscape, this move signals a shift toward sustainable financing within the non-bank sector. The bonds have been assigned a credit rating of “A-(tha),” reflecting the company's current financial standing. MTC’s executive chairman, Paritat Phetcharachai, indicated that the subscription period is tentatively scheduled for October 27–29.

While the announcement outlines the company's intent and the expected timeline, several details remain to be confirmed. Potential investors should note that the final terms, including the exact allocation and any specific conditions attached to the social bond framework, are subject to official confirmation during the subscription window. As this is a financial instrument, those interested in participating should consult official documentation provided by the company or authorized underwriters to understand the specific risks and objectives associated with these social bonds.
