On September 9, 2026, officials in Phrae province announced the arrest of a 38-year-old man following a major drug seizure at the Huai Rai narcotics checkpoint. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, police intercepted a six-wheel truck driven by the suspect, identified as Mr. Thitinan, who was transporting the illicit cargo from upper Northern Thailand.

In total, authorities seized 10 million methamphetamine pills.
