Thai Windsurfing Team Departs for 20th Asian Games in Nagoya
The first group of Thailand's national windsurfing team has arrived in Japan to prepare for the upcoming 20th Asian Games.
According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the first contingent of the Thai national windsurfing team departed for Nagoya, Japan, on the night of September 8, 2026. The athletes and support staff traveled via Thai Airways flight TG 644 to begin preparations for the 20th Asian Games, which are scheduled to take place in Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya from September 19 to October 4, 2026.
The traveling group includes windsurfers Siriporn Kaewduang-ngam (IQ Foil, women's open) and Chanatkan Charoensuk (IQ Foil, women's U19), accompanied by coach Natthapong Phonnopparat and sports scientist Somphop Sakhondee. The primary objective of this early arrival is to allow the athletes to acclimate to the local wind, weather, and sea conditions at the competition venue, ensuring they are in peak condition for the event.
