MP Raises Concerns Over Alleged Corruption in Local Government Exams
Democrat Party MP Satit Wongnongtaey has challenged the parliamentary committee's oversight regarding alleged irregularities in local government recruitment examinations.
During the third day of the parliamentary debate on the 2027 fiscal year budget, totaling 3.78 trillion baht, Democrat Party list MP Satit Wongnongtaey addressed the House of Representatives regarding alleged corruption within the Department of Local Administration (DLA). Satit criticized the extraordinary committee for focusing on minor budget cuts while allegedly overlooking significant irregularities in local government recruitment exams.
Satit highlighted three primary areas of concern. First, he questioned a 277-million-baht IT budget, noting that despite high spending on cybersecurity, the system suffered 115 instances of digital file tampering related to exam results in 2026. He proposed that application fees for these exams should be integrated into the national budget to allow for parliamentary oversight.
