Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary Reopens for Visitors

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, the Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary, located across Uthai Thani and Tak provinces, is set to reopen for nature study and tourism beginning September 10, 2026. This decision follows a collaborative safety evaluation conducted by the sanctuary and the Khao Nang Ram Wildlife Research Station to ensure the well-being of both staff and visitors.

Visitors will have access to specific areas, including the Thung Faek Ranger Station, the Huai Kha Khaeng Museum, the wildlife observation towers, the Seub Nakhasathien Memorial, the sanctuary headquarters, the Thung Yai-Huai Kha Khaeng World Heritage exhibition building, and the Rim Than kitchen. However, all nature trails—such as the Tiger’s Home, Khao Hin Daeng, Woodpecker Kingdom, and Khao Phakdi—remain closed. Additionally, the Sap Fa Pha, Kapuk Kapiang, and Cyber ranger stations are currently off-limits.

To ensure safety, the sanctuary has implemented strict regulations. Operating hours are from 08:00 to 15:00, with all visitors required to exit by 16:30, except for those at the museum’s rear photography spot, which remains open until 17:30. Guests must pay entry fees, stay on designated paths, and avoid traveling alone. While these areas are now accessible, travelers should note that many remote trails remain closed, and it is advised to verify current conditions before planning a trip.
