Legal Pressure Mounts in Fraud Case Against Prominent Amulet Expert
A complainant has petitioned the Central Investigation Bureau to expedite a fraud investigation involving well-known amulet expert 'Tone Bangkae'.
On September 9, 2026, Ms. Dorn Thianthawornwong, known as 'Madame Keng', submitted a formal request to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) at the Phithak Santi Building. She urged Deputy Commissioner Pol. Maj. Gen. Suwat Saengnum to accelerate the evidence collection and legal proceedings against Mr. Thonthong Sukkaen, widely recognized as the amulet expert 'Tone Bangkae'.
According to Khaosod Online, the case involves allegations of fraud spanning multiple sectors, including luxury goods trading, investments in amulet-viewing equipment, amulet auctions, an exhibition hall construction project, and land transactions. Ms. Dorn stated that despite previous attempts to restructure debts, provide collateral, and issue checks, the accused has allegedly failed to provide adequate restitution, with reports of bounced checks complicating the situation. She expressed concern that the legal process might be delayed by mediation efforts.
For residents and those involved in the Thai collectibles market, this case highlights the importance of due diligence in high-value transactions. While the CIB is currently handling the investigation through the Crime Suppression Division, the ultimate outcome remains subject to the findings of the ongoing police inquiry.
