Fatal Electrocution Incident in Nakhon Si Thammarat

On September 9, 2026, authorities in Ron Phibun District, Nakhon Si Thammarat, responded to a fatal incident involving a man identified as Mr. Pornthep. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, police were notified at 1:30 AM that a body had been discovered in a water mine located behind the victim's residence.

Upon arrival, investigators found the victim in the water with electrical wires entangled around his legs. A three-meter bamboo pole, which had been rigged with a metal grid and connected to an electrical source, was also recovered at the scene. Preliminary findings suggest the victim had been attempting to catch fish using this improvised electrical device when he was accidentally electrocuted. Authorities estimate that the death occurred at least three hours prior to the discovery by family members who had initiated a search after he failed to return home.
