Thailand Proposes Expansion of Solar Rooftop Program to 1.5 Million Households

According to a report by Prachachat Business, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapas has announced plans to expand the government's solar rooftop program. The initiative aims to increase the eligibility quota to 1.5 million households. Additionally, the government is considering a reduction in import taxes on solar components, a move intended to stimulate domestic production of solar cells.

The Ministry of Interior is scheduled to present this proposal to the screening committee on September 11, 2026.
