Thailand to Launch Residential Solar Subsidy Program in October

Ekniti Nitithanprapas, a key official involved in the initiative, announced that the government will provide a subsidy of 50,000 THB to participating households to help offset the costs of installing solar power systems.

This program is designed to encourage the adoption of renewable energy among the public. A notable feature of the initiative is the electricity buy-back scheme, which guarantees that households consuming less electricity than they generate can sell the surplus back to the state. Officials estimate that participants could earn approximately 1,000 THB per month through this arrangement.
