CP Group Proposes Four-Month Extension for Airport Rail Link Operations
The private operator of the Airport Rail Link has proposed a four-month contract extension, prompting urgent discussions between the Ministry of Transport and the State Railway of Thailand.
According to a report by Prachachat Business on September 9, 2026, the private operator of the Airport Rail Link, CP Group, has submitted a proposal to extend its train operation services for an additional four months following the expiration of its current contract on September 30, 2026.
In response to this development, Minister of Transport Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn has summoned the Chairman of the Board and the Governor of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) for an urgent meeting to review the terms of the proposal. The Minister indicated that the private firm might continue operations until the end of the year.
