Police Seize Over 200,000 Methamphetamine Pills Following High-Speed Chase in Udon Thani
A high-speed pursuit on the Udon Thani-Nong Khai road resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the seizure of 202,000 methamphetamine pills after their vehicle crashed.
According to a report from Khaosod Online Thailand, Udon Thani police successfully intercepted a drug trafficking attempt on September 4, 2026. During a routine drunk driving and crime prevention checkpoint on the Udon Thani-Nong Khai road (Route 2), a sedan sped through the barrier, prompting a police pursuit. The suspects attempted to evade authorities by turning into a side street, but lost control of the vehicle, colliding with an electric pole and a residential wall, which disabled the car.
Two male suspects attempted to flee on foot but were apprehended by officers. A search of the vehicle revealed 202,000 methamphetamine pills. The suspects, identified as residents of Sakon Nakhon province, reportedly confessed to being hired to transport the narcotics from Sakon Nakhon to Nam Som District, claiming they were acting on instructions from a Laotian contact.
