Airport Rail Link Operations Guaranteed for October 1st

According to a report by Prachachat Business, Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn has assured the public that Airport Rail Link services will remain operational starting October 1st. This guarantee comes as the government awaits formal confirmation from the CP Group regarding a proposed four-month extension of their current operating contract.

This extension is intended to serve as a bridge period before the responsibility for operating the rail line is transferred to a subsidiary of the State Railway of Thailand. The situation is currently linked to broader discussions concerning the high-speed rail project connecting three airports, following a request from the private sector to terminate that specific contract.

For travelers and residents, this news is significant as it removes immediate uncertainty regarding potential service disruptions. While the Minister has guaranteed that trains will continue to run, the final details of the four-month extension remain subject to further discussions. Minister Phiphat indicated that these matters will be addressed once the Prime Minister returns from an overseas trip.
