Flood Relief Payments Distributed to Nan Province Residents
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation and the Government Savings Bank have initiated the first round of flood relief payments for residents in Nan province.
On September 8, 2026, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), in collaboration with the Government Savings Bank (GSB), began distributing financial aid to flood-affected households in Nan province. This initiative follows a Cabinet resolution from August 25, 2026, which authorized payments of 9,000 baht per household to assist those impacted by recent flooding.
According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the first round of transfers has successfully reached 15,080 recipients, totaling over 135.7 million baht. While 15,215 individuals were initially verified as eligible for the aid, a portion of the payments remains pending. Authorities have identified that the primary reason for the delay is that some affected residents have not yet linked their PromptPay accounts to their national identification numbers.
For residents and those monitoring the situation, this development signifies an active effort by the government to provide financial recovery support. It is important to note that the distribution process is ongoing. Residents who have not yet received their funds are advised to ensure their PromptPay registration is correctly linked to their ID card to facilitate the transfer. Further updates regarding the remaining eligible recipients and the timeline for subsequent transfers are expected as the DDPM and GSB continue their processing efforts.
