Man Hospitalized After Dog Attack in Buriram

On September 5, 2026, a 35-year-old man named Thanong was severely injured in a dog attack in the Salaeng Thon sub-district of Buriram province. According to a report by Khaosod Online, the incident occurred when the victim, believing a black Thai dog was friendly because it was wagging its tail, attempted to interact with the animal near a local shop. The dog suddenly lunged at his neck and bit his right hand, causing deep lacerations that required multiple stitches. A bystander who attempted to intervene was also bitten on the finger.

Thanong was hospitalized for three days at Prakhon Chai Hospital to treat his wounds. The dog, which reportedly belongs to a vendor working at the shop, fled the scene following the intervention of others present. The owner of the dog has expressed regret and indicated a willingness to discuss the matter with the victim once he has recovered.
