Ichitan Group Expands into Agricultural Fertilizer Market
Beverage giant Ichitan Group has announced a joint venture to enter the agricultural fertilizer industry, marking a significant diversification of its business portfolio.
On September 8, 2026, Ichitan Group (ICHI) officially informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand that its board of directors has approved a new strategic investment. The company is partnering with EYW Group Holding to establish a subsidiary named Tan Fertilizer Co., Ltd.
This new entity will focus on the importation, production, and distribution of compound fertilizers designed for field and orchard crops, as well as related agricultural chemicals and equipment. The joint venture will have a registered capital of 150 million baht, divided into 1.5 million shares at 100 baht each. Ichitan Group will hold a majority stake of 51%, while EYW Group Holding will hold the remaining 49%.
For residents and those interested in Thailand’s economic landscape, this move represents a notable shift for a company primarily known for its ready-to-drink tea products. While this diversification into the agricultural sector may not directly impact daily tourism, it highlights the ongoing evolution of major Thai corporations as they seek to tap into the country's vital agricultural economy. As of now, specific timelines for the commencement of production and the full product range remain to be confirmed by the company as they finalize the operational structure of Tan Fertilizer.
