Three Suspects Surrender Following Violent Assault in Kalasin
Three teenagers have turned themselves in to police in Kalasin province after a brutal attack on a disabled youth, which left the victim in critical condition.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, three teenagers—aged 15, 16, and 17—surrendered to the Somdet Police Station on September 8, 2026, accompanied by their guardians. The suspects turned over two knives allegedly used in an attack that occurred on August 31, 2026, at Rak Somdet Park in Kalasin province.
The incident involved a group of nearly ten individuals who reportedly beat, stabbed, and slashed a disabled male youth. The victim suffered severe injuries, including brain swelling and intracranial hemorrhaging, requiring emergency surgery. While the victim is currently out of immediate danger, he remains in the intensive care unit under close medical supervision. The suspects claimed the attack was motivated by a prior dispute, alleging that the victim’s group had previously thrown bottles at their home, and they denied knowing the victim was disabled.
For residents and visitors, this incident highlights a localized violent confrontation in a public space. While the suspects have surrendered, the investigation is ongoing as police continue to process the case. It remains to be confirmed whether additional suspects involved in the group of ten will be apprehended or if further evidence will emerge regarding the circumstances of the assault. The victim’s family has sought justice through the Kalasin Damrongtham Center.
