Marketing Organization for Farmers to Remain Operational Amid Restructuring
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Watcharapol Khaokham has confirmed that the Marketing Organization for Farmers (MOF) will not be dissolved, despite ongoing reviews of state enterprises.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Watcharapol Khaokham announced on September 8, 2026, that the Marketing Organization for Farmers (MOF) will continue its operations. The MOF is currently among eight state enterprises undergoing a performance review to improve efficiency and reduce redundancy.
Watcharapol stated that dissolving the organization is not currently under consideration, as the MOF remains a vital mechanism for supporting farmers and distributing agricultural produce. He acknowledged that the organization has faced long-term liquidity issues and consecutive financial losses. To address these challenges, the ministry plans to optimize the use of MOF-owned properties, which are currently utilized at only 30-40% of their capacity. The goal is to increase this utilization to 80% to generate revenue and reduce financial burdens.
For residents and visitors, the MOF is known for its premium agricultural markets. The ministry intends to modernize the organization’s business model while preserving its reputation for high-quality goods. While the government has ruled out dissolution, the specific strategies for business restructuring and the timeline for achieving financial recovery remain under study. Further updates are expected as the organization works to modernize its operations and improve its fiscal health without relying on additional loans.
