The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has reported that a monsoon trough currently positioned over the North and upper Northeast, combined with a moderate southwest monsoon, is bringing heavy to very heavy rainfall to these areas. A high-pressure system originating from southern China is expected to move toward upper Vietnam and Laos, causing the monsoon trough to shift southward.

From September 10 to 13, 2026, the trough is forecast to move across the lower Central, lower Northeast, and Eastern regions, eventually connecting to an active low-pressure cell in the South China Sea. Residents and travelers in these areas should prepare for significant precipitation. Additionally, the upper Andaman Sea is experiencing moderate winds, with wave heights expected to reach approximately 2 meters, potentially exceeding this height during thundershowers.
