One Piece Card Game Pre-order Controversy Leads to Cyber Police Investigation
Customers are organizing to file complaints with the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau after failing to receive pre-ordered One Piece and Pokémon trading cards.
A significant dispute has emerged involving a seller of One Piece and Pokémon trading cards, with victims now coordinating to report the matter to Thailand’s Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau. According to Khaosod Online, the issue began when a shop collected pre-order payments from customers and subsequently transferred 29 million baht to a supplier identified as 'Mr. A.'
Mr. A had claimed to be capable of importing large quantities of cards, including 860 cartons of the OP17 set. However, when the delivery deadline passed, Mr. A directed customers to wait for shipments from another individual, 'Mr. N.' Upon inquiry, Mr. N denied ever receiving an order for the OP17 set from Mr. A.
One victim, identified as Mr. B, shared with Khaosod Online that he had previously conducted a successful transaction with the seller earlier this year, receiving a 26,000-baht item after a three-month wait. This history of prior successful business may have contributed to the scale of the current situation. For residents and collectors in Thailand, this case highlights the risks associated with high-value pre-orders. It remains to be confirmed how many individuals have been affected in total and what legal actions the Cyber Police will take against the parties involved.
