Soldier Faces Charges After High-Speed Collision with Traffic Police in Bangkok
A soldier on a big bike collided with a Bang Sue traffic officer and fled the scene, leading to six criminal charges.

According to Police Colonel Sanong Saengmanee of the Bang Sue Police Station, the incident began when the soldier, operating a big bike with a folded license plate and a loud exhaust, attempted to evade a traffic stop. During the pursuit near Chatuchak Park, the motorcycle collided with Police Senior Sergeant Major Phanomrung Jiamtua, a traffic officer from the Bang Sue station, before the rider fled the scene.
During interrogation, the soldier stated he was traveling from the Rama 5 area to visit relatives at Thammasat University Hospital in Rangsit when he encountered the police checkpoint. The soldier has expressed an intention to compensate the injured officer for damages incurred.
