Thai Cabinet Announces Key Appointments in Ministry of Labour
The Thai Cabinet has approved the appointment of new leadership for the Social Security Office and the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, effective October 1, 2026.
On September 8, 2026, the Thai Cabinet officially approved a reshuffle of senior officials within the Ministry of Labour. According to Deputy Government Spokesperson Lalida Periwattana, the appointments were proposed by the Minister of Labour and received approval from Deputy Prime Minister Yoschanan Wongsawat.
Effective October 1, 2026, Jerapa Boonrat, currently an Inspector-General at the Ministry of Labour, will assume the role of Secretary-General of the Social Security Office. Concurrently, Kanchana Poolkaew, the outgoing Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, will transition to the position of Director-General of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare. These changes are intended to fill vacancies created by upcoming civil service retirements.
