For the second consecutive year, Bangkok has been ranked among the top three most popular Asian destinations for repeat visitors, according to Agoda’s 2026 booking data.
Bangkok continues to be a premier choice for travelers returning to Asia, securing a spot in the top three for the second year in a row. According to data released by the digital travel platform Agoda, which analyzed accommodation bookings from the first half of 2026, the Thai capital remains a favorite for those seeking to revisit familiar surroundings.
In the latest rankings, Tokyo holds the top position, followed by Bangkok. Bali has entered the top three for the first time, while Seoul and Osaka round out the top five. The list of the top ten most revisited destinations is completed by Da Nang, Kuala Lumpur, Fukuoka, Taipei, and Johor Bahru.
According to Akkaporn Rodkong, Agoda’s Director for Thailand and Indochina, modern travel trends are shifting away from simply checking off new destinations toward a desire to return to beloved cities. This trend suggests that travelers are increasingly interested in revisiting favorite neighborhoods or restaurants while discovering new experiences within a familiar urban landscape.
For travelers and residents, this ranking highlights Bangkok’s enduring appeal as a city that balances comfort with ongoing novelty.
