According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on September 8, 2026, the Thai Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert for 44 provinces. The forecast indicates an increase in rainfall, with heavy precipitation covering approximately 70% of the Northern and Northeastern regions. This weather pattern is attributed to a monsoon trough passing through the North and upper Northeast, combined with a moderate southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.
Residents and travelers in these areas are advised to exercise caution regarding potential flash floods and forest runoff, particularly in low-lying areas, near waterways, and along mountain slopes. Authorities have specifically warned against traveling through routes prone to recurring flooding. Furthermore, maritime conditions in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are expected to be moderate, with waves in the upper Andaman Sea reaching approximately two meters, and higher in areas experiencing thunderstorms.
