On September 7, 2026, police in Pathum Thani were alerted to the discovery of a deceased newborn infant in a grassy area within Soi Phunsri 8, located in Bang Khayaeng sub-district. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, a passerby initially mistook the infant for a doll but investigated further after noticing flies, leading to the discovery of the body.
Police, forensic experts, and rescue volunteers arrived at the scene, which is described as a secluded, overgrown area near an abandoned pond. The infant, a female with the umbilical cord still attached, showed signs of decomposition. Forensic examination suggests the child had been deceased for approximately two to three days. Investigators noted that the body may have been moved by animals, as a separate umbilical cord was found nearby and the infant’s back exhibited abrasions.
