Police Apprehend Suspect Following Armed Motorcycle Robbery in Kamphaeng Phet
A 30-year-old man was arrested in Kamphaeng Phet after allegedly using a knife to hijack a motorcycle from a lone female rider.
On September 7, 2026, local authorities in Kamphaeng Phet arrested a 30-year-old man, identified as 'Khwan,' following a violent incident on the Khao Nang Thong-Sa Kaeo road. According to Khaosod Online, the suspect allegedly used a knife to threaten a woman riding her motorcycle alone at approximately 1:40 a.m., forcing her to drive him toward his home district. The victim managed to escape by jumping from the moving vehicle and fleeing into a nearby sugarcane field, where she was later assisted by police.
Investigations revealed that the suspect had previously stolen a different motorcycle in Phra Saeng, Surat Thani, on September 3. He claimed that after his initial stolen vehicle broke down, he targeted the victim to secure transportation back to his home in Sa Kaeo. The suspect reportedly intended to restrain the woman in the forest, but she escaped before he could do so.
For residents and travelers, this incident highlights the risks associated with traveling alone on rural roads during late-night hours.
