Korn Chatikavanij Proposes Merging Tax Departments to Boost Efficiency

During a parliamentary debate on the Ministry of Finance's budget, Democrat Party list MP Korn Chatikavanij proposed a structural reform for Thailand’s tax collection system. According to a report by Thai Post, Korn argued that the current budget allocation for the three main tax-collecting departments does not align with actual revenue generation. Specifically, he noted that the Revenue Department currently receives a budget of approximately 10 billion baht.
