A research team from Chiang Mai University has secured a national championship with a business plan based on a ready-to-use blood staining kit.
According to a report by Thai Post, a research team known as 'SmartRetic' from Chiang Mai University (CMU) has achieved first place in the national Research to Market (R2M) competition. The team’s success is built upon a research project led by Associate Professor Dr. Suwit Duangmano from the Clinical Microscopy department.
The core innovation presented by the team is a 'ready-to-use dry staining kit for reticulocytes' (immature red blood cells). By transforming this clinical research into a viable business model, the team demonstrated the potential for academic breakthroughs to transition into commercial applications within the medical diagnostics sector.
