Lom Sak Police Crack Down on Illegal Street Racing
Police in Phetchabun province seized 42 motorcycles following a two-night operation targeting illegal street racing groups causing public disturbance.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, police in Lom Sak district, Phetchabun province, conducted a targeted operation on September 5 and 6, 2026, to address complaints regarding illegal street racing. Local residents had reported large groups of youths gathering to race motorcycles near a go-kart track in Nam Chun sub-district and at the Khok Nong Muang intersection, causing significant noise and public disturbance.
Police Colonel Teerasak Saraphusitsant, Superintendent of Lom Sak Police Station, led the operation, which resulted in the seizure of 42 motorcycles. Authorities issued charges related to traffic violations, including failure to carry registration documents, lack of a driver’s license, missing license plates, use of non-compliant equipment, vehicle modification, and illegal street racing.
For residents and travelers in the area, this crackdown highlights ongoing efforts by local authorities to manage public order and road safety. While the police noted that some youths displayed defiant behavior during the operation, officers emphasized a cautious approach to avoid escalation. The seized vehicles are currently undergoing inspection, and the police have documented the profiles of the individuals involved.
