Thailand Releases Commemorative 33rd SEA Games Coins
The Treasury Department has launched a limited-edition 20-baht coin to commemorate Thailand hosting the 33rd SEA Games.
As reported by Khaosod Online Thailand, the Thai Treasury Department has officially begun the distribution of commemorative 20-baht coins marking the 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. According to Akarut Sonthayanon, Director-General of the Treasury Department, production of these coins is strictly limited to 200,000 units.
For residents and collectors, the coins are available for exchange starting September 7, 2026. Distribution is being handled through the department’s central office, 76 regional Treasury offices nationwide, and via digital channels including the Treasury Department’s website and the TRD e-Commerce application.
This initiative celebrates Thailand’s role as the host of the 33rd SEA Games, which took place from December 9 to 20, 2025. The event, organized under the South-East Asian Games Federation and the International Olympic Committee, is a major biennial sporting fixture in the region.
While the coins serve as a tangible memento of the 2025 games, those interested in acquiring one should note the limited supply. It remains to be confirmed how quickly these 200,000 units will be exhausted given the high interest in commemorative currency.
