Thailand Treasury Department Releases Commemorative SEA Games Coins
The Treasury Department has launched a 20-baht commemorative coin marking the upcoming SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games.
According to Prachachat Business, the Thai Treasury Department has officially begun the distribution of commemorative coins to celebrate the hosting of the SEA Games and the ASEAN Para Games. As of September 7, 2026, the public can exchange for these white-metal, 20-baht denomination coins.
Director-General Akkarut Sonthayanon stated that the Ministry of Finance produced these coins to honor the spirit of the regional sporting events. For residents and travelers in Thailand, these coins serve as unique physical mementos of the games. While they are legal tender, their primary appeal lies in their collectible nature for those interested in Thai numismatics or sports memorabilia.
At this stage, the Treasury Department has confirmed the availability of the standard-type coins starting from the specified date.
