Thailand Launches 'Aom Plus' Government Bond Offering
The Stock Exchange of Thailand has opened subscriptions for the second round of 'Aom Plus' government bonds, offering interest rates up to 2.8%.
As reported by Prachachat Business, the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has officially opened subscriptions for the second round of the 'Aom Plus' government bond series for 2026. The offering period runs from September 7 to September 9, 2026, with a total issuance value of 2 billion baht.
Investors can choose between two maturity options: a 3-year bond with an interest rate of 1.8% per annum, or a 10-year bond offering a 2.8% annual interest rate. Interest payments for both options are scheduled to be distributed every three months. The program is designed to be accessible, requiring a minimum investment of only 1,000 baht, with no upper limit on the purchase amount. Subscriptions are being processed through stock trading accounts via the Streaming application.
For residents and expatriates in Thailand, this bond offering represents a low-entry-barrier opportunity to participate in government-backed savings instruments. While the bonds provide a predictable quarterly income stream, potential investors should note that the subscription window is brief, closing on September 9. As this is a financial product, individuals should review the specific terms and conditions provided by the SET to ensure the investment aligns with their personal financial goals. Further details regarding the long-term performance of these specific bond series remain subject to market conditions.
