Thailand Launches Second Round of 'Aom Plus' Government Bonds
The Stock Exchange of Thailand has opened subscriptions for the second round of 'Aom Plus' government bonds, offering a total value of 2 billion baht.
On September 7, 2026, the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) announced the launch of the second round of 'Aom Plus' government bonds for the year 2026. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the subscription period runs from September 7 to September 9, 2026, with a total issuance value of 2 billion baht.
Investors can participate via the Bond Connect system using a Thai stock account. The offering features two maturity options: a 3-year bond with a 1.8% interest rate and a 10-year bond with a 2.8% interest rate. Interest payments for both options are scheduled every three months. The government is utilizing a 'Small Lot First' allocation method, which is intended to ensure broader access for retail investors, with a minimum investment requirement of 1,000 baht.
For residents and expatriates in Thailand, this initiative represents a potential avenue for local financial planning and wealth management. While the bonds provide a structured investment opportunity, those interested should note that the subscription window is brief. As of now, the final subscription outcomes and the total number of successful individual participants remain to be confirmed following the close of the booking period on September 9. Prospective investors are encouraged to review the specific terms provided by the Bond Connect platform before committing funds.
