On the afternoon of September 6, 2026, a fire broke out at the Suankularb Wittayalai Thonburi School, located on Kanchanaphisek Road in the Bang Khun Thian district of Bangkok. According to reports from Khaosod Online Thailand, the incident occurred in a teacher's office situated on the fourth floor of the school's first building.
Emergency responders, including the Tha Kham Police and the Bangkok Fire and Rescue Department, arrived at the scene following a report at approximately 3:45 p.m. Firefighters worked for roughly 30 minutes to bring the blaze under control. The fire caused significant damage to the office, destroying various teaching materials, student documents, and examination cabinets stored within the room.
One individual, identified as 33-year-old physical education teacher Phatchara Wailap, sustained injuries due to smoke inhalation during the incident.
For residents and those living in the vicinity of the Bang Khun Thian area, this event serves as a reminder of local emergency activity, though school operations and surrounding traffic are expected to return to normal.
