Thailand Reports $5.2 Billion in Fruit Exports to China Over Seven Months
Thailand's Department of International Trade Promotion is expanding fruit export channels into China's secondary cities following strong seven-month performance.
According to a report by Prachachat Business, Thailand’s fruit exports to China reached a value exceeding $5.2 billion during the first seven months of 2026. In response to these figures, the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) is actively seeking to broaden market access beyond major hubs, specifically targeting secondary cities in China’s inner northern regions.
As part of this strategy, a Thai delegation recently participated in the Shuangrun Agricultural Mall Investment Promotion Conference held in Yuncheng, Shanxi Province. The event served as a platform for Thai officials to witness the signing of private-sector cooperation agreements between Thai and Chinese entities. The initiative aims to leverage agricultural trade centers to facilitate smoother distribution of Thai produce.
For residents and travelers, this development highlights the strengthening of agricultural supply chains between the two nations, which may influence the availability and variety of Thai fruit products in regional Chinese markets. While the export figures demonstrate a robust trade relationship, the long-term impact of these specific secondary-market partnerships on overall export volume remains to be confirmed. Observers will be watching to see if these new distribution channels effectively sustain the current growth trajectory in the coming months.
