Village Head Arrested for Methamphetamine Use in Sisaket
A village head in Sisaket province has been detained after testing positive for methamphetamine following local complaints.
On September 5, 2026, authorities in Sisaket province, led by the provincial governor and local police, apprehended a village head identified as Wichitchai, following reports from residents regarding his alleged involvement with narcotics. According to Khaosod Online, the official was accused of consuming drugs alongside local youths in the village of Ban Phak Bung, located in the Rasi Salai district.
Upon investigation, the village head consented to a urine test, which initially indicated the presence of illicit substances. A subsequent confirmation test at Sisaket Hospital verified the presence of methamphetamine in his system. The official admitted to consuming the drug on September 1, 2026, at an abandoned house adjacent to the village’s public broadcasting tower, utilizing makeshift equipment. He further confessed to obtaining the narcotics from local youths.
