According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, a 32-year-old Chinese entrepreneur named Zhang Xiaoqiao has launched a unique business venture in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, under the brand name 'Suma.' The service focuses on providing professional back-scratching to help clients relieve stress and physical discomfort.
Operating similarly to a massage parlor, the service involves clients lying face-down while staff use specialized, soft-tipped tools to gently scratch the body. The business currently operates two locations and reportedly generates approximately 500,000 baht (100,000 yuan) in monthly revenue, with service fees set at roughly 1,500 baht (300 yuan) per hour. Zhang has expressed ambitions to expand the brand to 100 locations across the country.
For travelers or residents in the region, this service represents an unconventional addition to the local wellness and relaxation market. While the business model has shown early financial success, it remains to be seen whether this niche concept will maintain its popularity as it scales.
