Thailand Sets Ambitious Goal for 2026 Asian Para Games

The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) has announced its preparations for the 5th Asian Para Games, scheduled to take place from October 18 to 24, 2026, in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. According to Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the SAT, the Thai delegation is well-prepared, having maintained consistent training since the 13th ASEAN Para Games held in Thailand earlier this January.

Khaosod Online reports that the Thai team features world-class athletes, including Paralympic medalists and world champions. Key contenders include wheelchair racer Pongsakorn Paeyo, who recently set a new world record in the men's 200-meter T53 class this past May, and the national boccia team. The SAT has set a target of securing no fewer than 24 gold medals during the competition.
