According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the Department of Tourism is set to participate in the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2026, scheduled for September 10–16 in Canada. Represented by the Thailand Film Office, the delegation aims to position the country as a premier global filming destination under the 'Filming Paradise' initiative.
The primary objective of this mission is to engage with producers from the United States, Canada, and other international markets to encourage more film production within Thailand. The department has set a target of attracting 500 million baht in investment through these efforts. This year’s TIFF is particularly significant as it introduces a dedicated space for film markets and business negotiations, allowing the Thai delegation to connect directly with global studios, investors, and production companies.
